This is the group of architects I admire the most! I love 'old school', seemingly simple golf courses, the type of golf course that 'speaks' softly. The following list is comprised of long gone architects other than two entities, one being - Coore/Crenshaw. They continue to do an incredible job of building classic, understated and highly playable golf courses and I would encourage any of you to seek their designs out and give them a try. Just keep in mind there will be very little "Wow!" factor. (A little known fact is that Seth Raynor was selected as the original designer for Cypress Point. Alister MacKenzie happened to be the benefactor of Raynor's untimely death.)
